The same day I decided to get pet insurance with Fetch I had an appointment for some shots my husky was missing so I call them and this is what I say:
“Hey, I know that there’s a wait period of 15 days to cover things like surgeries or accidents but my insurance has wellness (it covers some vaccines and no major things) and for what I understand that doesn’t have a wait period but I am calling to make sure.
I wanted to make sure that wellness was activated or ready to use with my policy before making a claim for my husky shots instead of wasting my time sending documents.
The lady that I spoke with confirm to me that It was ready to use “after checking my account” she says it looks like you don’t have a wait period and I can start using wellness. After almost 3 weeks! I get a message from Fetch saying that my claim wasn’t approved bc I made it before wellness was activated. I call for an explanation and they say that wellness gets activated the next day.. their website doesn’t say that and I even CALL! to make sure.
I was paying around $70 for 2 months while they were investigating my case. They have all the conversations recorded and confirm to me that I was told my wellness was ready to use but that the lady didn’t even look up my account…. Well that certainly makes it even worse because I even told her that I open my account that same day so with that little information the staff should already know that if you create your account today that wellness is going to be activated the next day. Idk to me that’s just simple math. After investigating my case they confirmed they were in the wrong but that they can’t do nothing for me after making go through 2 months of miscommunication, misleading information and me actively looking for an answer.
I work hard for my money and it just doesn’t sit right with me paying a company that can’t even make it up to their clients for their own mistakes.
It was a very frustrating experience and I felt like I was lied to. Didn’t even use it.
I now have 2 dogs and if they would’ve make things right I probably would’ve add my new pup but after this experience I think I just rather not have pet insurance and just pay out of pocket.
