Never got out of the starting blocks
I really wanted to use this company and my vet complied with all of their paperwork requests by sending complete medical records. I hadn't even submitted a claim when I started getting contacts from claim adjusters nitpicking the files and creating pre-existing exclusions for the pets. If you took your animal to the vet for anything other than routine shots in the past, it's a pre-existing condition, even if it was a minor matter and you were being proactive with your animal's care. The experience honestly confirmed all of the negative things I've heard about pet insurance companies, and Embrace is supposed to be one of the best. I'm going to take what I would have paid in a premium and put it in a segregated savings account, continue to take good care of my animals, and avoid the frustration and bureaucracy posed by pet insurance. I will write off the loss of $200 in premiums as a lesson learned.
