We are newer to pet insurance so the coverage seems to compare well with other pet insurance offerings that I have come across. I haven't done much research into other offerings since a friend recommended Embrace to us, so to be honest I am unsure if there is better coverage our there. The App user experience has improved over time, as it was a bit difficult to navigate and file a claim when I initially signed our dog up for coverage (June 2020). Since then it's now an easy screenshot of our invoice and a submission that takes less than 5 minutes. I don't currently have plans to make any changes, but may next year depending on premium per month cost.

This insurance is a joke and refused to pay for my dogs cancer treatment and surgery after repeated appeals with appropriate documentation from my veterinarian to back up the fact that the decision was wrong. They keep claiming that polydipsia (increased thirst) that she developed after dental surgery is the only preexisting condition she had, which has since resolved and therefore resulting in refusal to cover treatment. Would not recommend to anyone.

Incorrect interpretation of results, leading to multiple denied claims for the same problem

First, let me start by stating that I have had a TERRIBLE time with Embrace. My dog Otter was diagnosed with neck pain, and the two claims were denied because he was in his orthopedic waiting period. When my vet appealed, they were still denied, because it might be orthopedic. When he was taken to a neurologist (claim #3 - for the same issue, now to a specialist), and they found meningeal enhancement (and even performed a spinal tap to determine the cause), they denied the claim - why? Pre-existing condition - of a neurological issue that might be orthopedic (but is clearly not). How do I know? Because I have a PhD from the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine, and I reviewed meningeal enhancement (the diagnosis), which is undoubtedly a neurological issue. The neurologist even wrote that there was no orthopedic involvement in the notes! How does a neurological issue of meningeal enhancement that starts four months after the policy started become "Anxiety and Abnormal Behavior" to the claims adjuster, which are conveniently not covered? Otter is doing better now after a course of prednisone, many thanks to the neurologist that treated him and absolutely no thanks to Embrace.

Pre-Certification was approved quickly

Pre-Certification was approved quickly, your staff was outstanding and very helpful and concerned about Me and mostly Braxston. The surgery went well it was 3 hours. His boot was on for 22 days, Braxston healed well but still has a limp the vet it will take a few weeks before the limp disappears. (knowing Braxston he will play it for a while). Thanks again to your staff Derek, Stephanie and to Jenn who took all my question and even called me at my request. Reimbursement was was received na timely manner

Peace of Mind

I had just signed up for Embrace two months ago to cover a family of 3 cats that appeared at our home and made their way inside. The young male suddenly developed a kidney infection and had to stay at the vet’s for over three days, not to mention lab work, fluids and everything else. Knowing I had Embrace allowed me to work with the vet more freely to say “yes” to additional labs. I was already worried about Mowgli- so I was glad I didn’t have to worry about ending up with a giant bill. Mowgli is now back to full health, and so is my bank account thanks to Embrace. They covered everything they said they would, which was a big relief.
