I wasn't sure that insurance was worth…

I wasn't sure that insurance was worth it but on the first visit I paid $249 Embrace reemburshed me $150 of that, which is great. They didn't give me more I guess due to the fact that one charge was a fecal test at $70 so its all good. I have 90% and $100 deductable.

Never AGAIN - Policy Cancelled for all 4 dogs

Today I cancelled my policy on all four of my dogs. I had turned in a claim that was immediately denied by Embrace Pet Insurance and then denied again following an appeal – even after submitting a detailed letter from my Vet. My 11-year-old Golden Retriever developed a small sore on her cheek about a year and half ago. I took her to the vet, assuming she got caught in the rose bushes. Because there was mild swelling, my vet performed a needle biopsy and cytology right in the office. Test showed a little bacterium, so she prescribed a topical cream, which healed the sore completely. On the re-check two weeks later, my vet confirmed it was fully resolved and there was no reason for further treatment. Fast-forward to this year: during her annual exam for booster shots, I asked the vet to check a new lump near the base of her tail. She also noticed a small growth on her gum line. A needle biopsy and cytology were done and the vet said neither appeared to be cancerous or concerning. She recommended a CBC panel just to be sure, which came back perfectly normal. We decided to remove both growths and do a dental cleaning at the same time. I submitted my claim to Embrace in August for the initial appointment and then then Sept appointment where she had her surgery which was denied. My vet reviewed their reasoning and just laughed – saying the sore from a year and a half ago had absolutely nothing to do with these unrelated growths. She even wrote a detailed letter so I could appeal clarifying that there was no pre-existing condition. Embrace still denied the appeal. This was my first experience with Pet insurance and I regret not researching more carefully. After reading other reviews, I now see that Embrace has a pattern of denying legitimate, higher-value claims. I take excellent care of my dogs and spend a fortune keeping them healthy but dealing with Embrace has been nothing but aggravating and disappointing. Do your research before trusting this company with your pet’s care or your money.
