Claims

Anytime that I have submitted a claim they have paid their portion back to me which is 90%. I have never had any problems with submitting bills and getting reimbursement.

I filed a claim and the support staff…

I filed a claim and the support staff was very nice, no issues with them at all. My dog has had issues in May with his stomach but our clinic have not been able to figure out why he was throwing. Prior to getting insurance he had an issue the vet prescribed a few pills to help settle his stomach which we used from time to time over a month. It's a French Bulldog and they tend to have digestive issues and he was fine until Sept and had a bout with his stomach and we call and could not get into see the vet until Dec whcih at that point they prescribed about 4 meds and stated to keep him on his strict diet which we have. Our bill was $336 and once I submitted the claim they needed med records which the vet provided and at that point they decide it was "pre-existing condition" which is a crock of "you know what " I called and got the standard well he a condition back in May so unfortunately it's not 180 days from the "pre-existing condition" so we can't take anything off your deductible and all the meds will not be covered. I tried in vein to explain but of course no assistance and I'm trying to explain you take my $143 every month and the 1st claim I submit is denied because a dog can't throw up for 180 days or your out of luck. BUYER BEWARE! I really thought his was a great way to protect our dog I assure they didn't ask me any questions nor did they ask my vet. Just requesting medical records does not indicate it's related. Ask questions many before you sign on.

Delays after delays

I've had ASPCA for 3 plus years. Since starting with them was great, no problems. Moving forward after the first year and I price increase of more than $20 a month just for the increased amount made the monthly insurance cost about $55. The 2nd year Covid hit and life changed for all of us. My insurance had everyone working from their home. I had 2 or 3 $100 or less claims the 2nd year. I emailed the claims into their office. They offer direct deposit when they pay a claim. After 3 weeks and no communication I called their office. Recording comes on and says due to Covid claims will be taking at least 30 days extra to process. I waited the 30 days for the 1st claim called had to leave a message due Covid. How convenient to NOT pay claims and use COVID as the excuse to withhold paying claims. Whether you work at home or the office only difference is an office verses a room in your house. If their employees had that much obstacles keeping them from processing claims the management should have corrected that. Moving forward it took45-60 days to get paid for claims that are minor. My policy is a $100 deductible with a 90% coverage. Now that Covid can't be used as an excuse and into the 3rd year I submitted another $108 claim waited 3 weeks and get a notice that the claims reps wants a complete medical history. Now remember I have only used 1 vet for 3 1/2 years. The insurance pulled this on the last claim during the 2nd year asking for medical history. My recent claim is the 1st for the new year $108 and they denied the claim because they could not get the vet to provide the history. My vet advised me they are playing games. They have my dogs history for the last 3 years and now look their excuse. I could have changed insurance but I gave them another chance. This year they raised my dogs monthly cost to more the $86.00 per month. My dog is not sickly and very healthy. It appears to me ASPCA is having financial problems and they use every excuse to not pay your claim and deny claims. Also ASPCA is not affiliated to the charity organization that help animals. I do not recommend this company. If you have insurance with ASPCA good luck as each year goes by you will remember my review and so will your bank account. BEWARE
