Difficult to deal with; minimal payout on claims
Hartville consistently found a way to NOT cover expenses we submitted... kind of defeats the purpose of signing up, eh? Almost all expenses were refused saying it was a "pre-existing condition" or the price was too much. For example: Yes, two of the expenses (6 months apart) were both skin conditions, but the first was allergy-related and the second time our dog stuck his nose in a fireant hill. Pretty sure they the ant hill wasn't "pre-existing".
We were constantly locked out of our account and the "remember password" functionality doesn't work for us or their support staff. I always dreaded any interaction I had with them. I just canceled the account and I feel as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
