Long Time Petshealth member

When we got our new puppy in 2004 (Buddy) we knew his breed often had medical issues down the road and wanted to make sure his needs wouldn't cost us an arm & a leg so we did our homework and asked our vet for the pet insurance he would recommend. The vet suggested Pets Health and we checked it out. 8 years later we are still with Pets Health. Buddy had to have expensive surgery for a birth defect when he was 9 months old and most of that was covered by Pets Health. Over the years he has fallen and sprained his legs, gotten infections and plenty of allergies. Most of that has been covered by Pets Health. The cost per month is well worth it! Thank you Pets Health

You insure yourself, why not your pets?

My vet discussed getting pet insurance with me on my first visit after adopting my puppy. The vet had determined he had worms, lice and anemia, which as everyone who has animals knows, it's not cheap to treat any of those, and money is tight. I decided to get pet insurance to have some support on the medical payments so anytime my dog is hurt and I don't know if he needs to be seen or not, I have the ability to just take him in because I know the insurance will help cover the costs and I can ensure my dog is healthy and happy. I've called customer service for questions on billing, costs and coverage and everytime they've been extremely helpful. Having pet insurance has saved me over 1,000 in the last year due to accidents, illnesses/injuries and getting him neutered. I don't think my dog would've gotten the essential care he needed without the pet insurance.

Wouldn't You Do Anything for Your Fur Baby?

I would. I've had the insurance for approx 3 yrs and have thankfully only had a handful of times when I've had to use it, but the reimbursements have always seemed fair. It's peace of mind to know that I wont go totally broke if anything should happen to my babies- and I have a pug, and even though the breed is known for having more health problems, he got the same premium as my Laberdoodle. I've seen too many friends go broke paying for surgeries- I recommend this to all my friends and colleagues with pets.

Pet insurance is a good thing!

We have three extra-large dogs in my household and after several very expensive treatments, we decided to purchase pet insurance for them. Recently, Spice, our bull mastif/French mastif mix, was a very sick girl! She had something called MMM which made opening her mouth very painful and could have resulted in her jaw being locked, if our wonderful veterinarian hadn't diagnosed it correctly and began treatment right away! Turn out to be an expensive problem with her having to spend a week at the Vet's and having a bunch of treatments! The insurance covered a large part of the expenses - and it was great not to have the "money" issues influence what we were able to do for Spice!
