Extremely poor coverage and vague…

Extremely poor coverage and vague descriptions of coverage and services. My daughter’s cat recently had surgery for a serious condition amounting to $7000. Her policy with ASPCA did not cover anything! Their reasoning was pre-existing condition and uncurable condition. Neither of which was stated in their policies. I believe that this insurance is a scam! If it is associated with the ASPCA organization, I would never give my money to their organization. Horrible!

I now gave 3 dogs on ASPCA

I now gave 3 dogs on ASPCA. I tried a different insurance for my puppy that is a rescue. I went with the insurance the rescue recommended, not nearly as organized as ASPCA. I thank you for helping me with my Senior, adult and puppy with peace of mind.

Zero communication during the claim…

Zero communication during the claim process. Good luck if ther is an issue because they will give you the run around. I have provided the medical records multiple times in the same email thread and seperate medical records email that is on their site.Reconds that were already confirmed there now they can not locate. This has been going on for a month+. Once sending another email you do not get any communication unless you call and it always feels like starting from zero with the rep. I would give them lower rating if I could. After my policy is up I plan on looking elsewhere. I just want closure for my pet that passed but is making the process far worse.

I feel very misled and scammed

They claimed that my pet's condition was pre-existing when it absolutely was not, then didn't give me a space to fight it. Also the "preventative care" is an absolute joke, the reimbursement amounts for preventative are so small, even smaller than the monthly bill depending on which plan you're on. Avoid this pet insurance at all costs, I feel taken advantage of and I'm writing this to hopefully help someone else not make the same mistake I made by going with this company.

Monthly Cost

Rates start at: $10 (for accident only), $16 (Complete Coverage). Rates vary based on species, age, breed, and location.

Coverage

The pay-out amount is based on the actual vet bill, at a rate pre-selected by the customer: 90%, 80% or 70%

Payout Limits

Annual limits can be set by the customer, ranging from $2,500 to $20,000, including an unlimited option. No lifetime limits.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

There are no waiting periods for preventive care. Coverage begins 14 days after date listed on policy for accidents, illnesses, and knee/ligament conditions.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered. ASPCA Pet Health Insurance has two Preventive Care plans that can be added to help cover a pet’s wellness care, including annual exams, vaccinations, tests, dental cleanings and flea/heartworm preventive. Preventive Care plans reimburse up to a set amount for each listed treatment. If your pet exhibited symptoms of a knee and ligament condition at any time, prior to enrollment or during a waiting period, all ligament and knee conditions will be excluded. Ligament and Knee are conditions involving a ligament, patella, meniscus or soft tissue disorder of the knee. Accident-Only coverage available.
