I purchased insurance for my dog which I recently adopted from a woman who was being stationed overseas and wouldn't be able to take the dog with her. I took my dog to the vet ro get seen because I noticed that he kept licking his paws a lot. Although I tried several different over the counter remedies, keeping his paws clean, etc... the problem continued and I was worried. The vet determined that it was allergies. Treatment came out to almost 200 dollars. After submitting the claim, ASPCA rejected it because they claimed it was not within the type of policy I am paying for, however, it is because I purchased the illness and accident policy so that did fall within the benefits. I called to question their rejection of my claim and customer service said that they needed 6 months of medical records (not even a person's insurance requires that), I explained that I only had maybe 3 months because I got the dog in March of 2024, this claim was made in June. I submitted all the documents I have and haven't received any update yet. So I'm thinking that having pet insurance at least w this company is not worth it. My dog is healthy and I'm just throwing money away on this company since I am giving them money for nothing and paying the full vet bill myself. I wouldn't recommend this ins.
