Do not buy this pet insurance

I turned in 2 claims. Received no feedback as to whether or not they would be paid. After 2 1/2 months I called. I was told the insurance does not cover diabetes because I have a “basic” policy. They never fail to take $45 out of my account each month but can’t even respond to several emails I sent them regarding the claims. I cancelled the insurance. Worthless!

Get w the times

Get w the times This company needs a real online website where users can login, look at their policies, update information like modern day insurance companies. Completely out of date. Also need an app that does the same thing to quickly file claims. So behind in times!

We are very happy with AKC pet…

We are very happy with AKC pet insurance. Our dachshund has had this insurance since she was 4 months old. She is now 14 years old. AKC pet insurance has been pleasant to work with. Their customer service representatives are friendly and professional. They have processed out claims in a timely and efficient manner.

Monthly Cost

$5 – $90 depending on coverage options chosen.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 20% after your annual deductible. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Per incident limit of $1,500 – $8,000 and annual limits of $3,000 – $16,000 depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

Choose from $100 – $1,000 annual deductible.

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll with no upper age limit. Coverage options available for senior pets.

Waiting Period

Coverage goes into effect one day after enrollment. There is a 5-day wait period for accident claims and 14-day wait period for illness claims. AKC Pet Insurance provides 30 days of accident and illness insurance coverage included with AKC registration for newly registered puppies.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Customizable plans allow you to add-on coverage for inherited and congenital conditions, exam fees and wellness care. Cancer coverage included in base accident and illness plan.
