Pet Insurance with AKC

Very happy with the way Pet Insurance follows up with my vet in getting all the information they needed. Very prompt in receiving approval and check for my dogs problems that have been costly earlier in age than we ever thought and happy I purchased my policy.

I would encourage anyone with pets to…

I would encourage anyone with pets to sign up for AKC Insurance. I have 2 Shih tsu and l love them and I want to take care of them to the best of my ability. Because they desire it. One of my babies has Cushing disease. I had never heard of the disease. Well, there is all kinds of test. AKC paid almost all of the bill. Without the insurance I would be in det. Thank you AKC.

AKC pet insurance is the way to go!

AKC pet insurance is always prompt with notifications that they have received the claim and process it. When I call with a question, the representative is quick to respond and always polite. I am very pleased with their customer service and correspondence concerning our policy.

Monthly Cost

$5 – $90 depending on coverage options chosen.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 20% after your annual deductible. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Per incident limit of $1,500 – $8,000 and annual limits of $3,000 – $16,000 depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

Choose from $100 – $1,000 annual deductible.

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll with no upper age limit. Coverage options available for senior pets.

Waiting Period

Coverage goes into effect one day after enrollment. There is a 5-day wait period for accident claims and 14-day wait period for illness claims. AKC Pet Insurance provides 30 days of accident and illness insurance coverage included with AKC registration for newly registered puppies.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Customizable plans allow you to add-on coverage for inherited and congenital conditions, exam fees and wellness care. Cancer coverage included in base accident and illness plan.
