customer service is very helpful - all questions are answered and claims are processed in a timely manner. I suggest any pet owner get insurance as it helps the pocket in the long run... :)

I've never known anyone to actually use…

I've never known anyone to actually use their insurance policies and benefit substantially from them. Unfortunately my Thor needed to make several claims which saved me a substantial amount of money to give him the best treatment care. I don't even think about whether to treat him or how much it will cost, just moving forward with excellent care for my best friend. AKC has earned a customer for life. Thank you

Customer for life

I've never known anyone to actually use their insurance policies and benefit substantially from them. Unfortunately my Thor needed to make several claims which saved me a substantial amount of money to give him the best treatment care. I don't even think about whether to treat him or how much it will cost, just moving forward with excellent care for my best friend. AKC has earned a customer for life. Thank you.

I’ve never had any problems since I started using AKC pet insurance. I’ve had a couple of big claims to process with them. Commmunication and contact with representatives are great, they care about your needs and are efficient with responses and making sure you understand everything. Submissions are easy and reimbursements are done in appropriate timing. Helene Bingley

Monthly Cost

$5 – $90 depending on coverage options chosen.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 20% after your annual deductible. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Per incident limit of $1,500 – $8,000 and annual limits of $3,000 – $16,000 depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

Choose from $100 – $1,000 annual deductible.

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll with no upper age limit. Coverage options available for senior pets.

Waiting Period

Coverage goes into effect one day after enrollment. There is a 5-day wait period for accident claims and 14-day wait period for illness claims. AKC Pet Insurance provides 30 days of accident and illness insurance coverage included with AKC registration for newly registered puppies.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Customizable plans allow you to add-on coverage for inherited and congenital conditions, exam fees and wellness care. Cancer coverage included in base accident and illness plan.
