How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Crook County Veterinary Service

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

We are on a pretty extensive road trip and my pug ate an unknown amount of cat litter. Considering we weren’t sure when we’d see another veterinarian office on the map, we stopped in before heading out just to be safe. They fit her in between appointments and gave her a thorough exam. My pug is a mean old lady and even though she was growling and mad, they were not phased at all. Wonderful experience, and thank you so much!

Love this practice! We were traveling across the country and our dog had intestinal issues. There was no power at the vet due to snow and wind, but they still took us in and we were shortly on our way!! Both the staff and Chris, the vet were great. We were so lucky our hotel recommended them.

Actually 15 STARS we be more correct! Dr Johnson and staff were the absolute best for our Sami (lab) who hurt her foot! If you need vet service, they are the greatest, wonderful people, and reasonably priced.

Great place and reasonable price. We were passing through the town for a vacation and realized that our dog had injured his paw. Even though we did not have an appointment, our dog still got the treatment fast! Very nice people. Saved our dog's paw.

I'm pretty sure I've met the entire staff! I made multiple visits with several of my pets this week. They were all very friendly, kind, and compassionate with my furkids. Definitely recommended!🐾🐾🐾
