How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Wisconsin Valley Veterinary Service

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I love the staff. The vets are great, and treat my animals great however I do have to agree with the lower reviews on the older receptionist not having the greatest customer service skills and comes off as rude with her tone of voice and mannerisms. She never seems to ever remember who I am or why I’m there and it honestly gives me anxiety to even call because I don’t want to have to talk to her. This has been enough to make me consider leaving due to my social anxiety. What stops me is the very reasonable prices and the vet who has helped my pets.

Amazing staff. Very kind. They worked us in to that days schedule after our pup ate something he shouldn’t have. Compassionate and never felt rushed. Very fairly priced. Highly recommend

The vet and vet tech's are great with dogs but the receptionist is very rude. We've taken our dogs here for years and have finally had enough of the attitude of the older receptionist lady. Would no longer recommend.

I brought my dog here for the last 6 years. They are very reasonably priced compared to other vets in town, and they never try to push unnecessary things to make extra money. They were always easy to get a hold of and get into even in urgent situations. But after putting my dog to sleep, there aren't enough kind words to express my gratitude. They let him pass outside in the sun and fresh air. They gave me all the time I needed and the staff was kind and supportive. They washed the blanket he passed on for me and made a beautiful paw print mold for our family. Best vet in Wausau
