How to Save Money at Greentree Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
We have been taking our beloved fur babies here for over a decade. These people are the best. The amount of care and compassion they provided for not only our pets, but for my wife and I when we had to put down our sweet littles was overwhelming and will always be remembered. ❤️🥰🙏

This is a delayed review, but important to share: I cannot thank Dr. Dunphy and the team at Greentree enough for the incredible care they provided for my beloved dachshund, Gatsby. As a senior with complex needs, Gatsby had been seeing Dr. Dunphy for two years, ever since we moved to Seattle from Denver and her kindness, expertise, and unwavering support made all the difference in his care. One particularly memorable experience was in June 2023, when Gatsby needed a dental procedure. As a senior, the anesthesia made me incredibly nervous, but Dr. Dunphy and her team were absolutely amazing. They patiently walked me through every step of the process, thoroughly explaining the risks, benefits, and precautions they were taking to ensure Gatsby’s safety. Their calm, empathetic approach helped ease my anxiety, and I felt reassured that Gatsby was in the best possible hands. The procedure went smoothly, and I was so impressed by the care and attention Dr. Dunphy provided to Gatsby before, during, and after his dental. It was clear how much she genuinely cared about him and wanted to ensure he was as comfortable and healthy as possible. Her dedication and compassion gave me such peace of mind during a stressful time. Even though Gatsby transitioned to hospice care several months ago, sadly passing away on 11/21/24, I will always be grateful for the care Dr. Dunphy and the Greentree team provided. If you are looking for a veterinary team that truly listens, treats your pet with love and respect, and supports you as a pet parent, I cannot recommend Dr. Dunphy and Greentree enough. They are truly exceptional, and their care meant the world to Gatsby and me.

I love Greentree!!! I moved to the area in the last year and had to establish a vet for my problematic cat, Gunner. Greentree came highly recommended via referrals. First visit was a check up and our following visits have been with Dr. M to diagnose Gunner who has allergy issues. It's been an ongoing process to get to the bottom of it and Dr. M has been nothing short of patient, kind, solution oriented and informative. I've also spoken with Indigo and Dallas a lot and they are both amazing and very responsive whenever I email with questions. For context, I had taken Gunner to 3 other vets previously and none of them took the time to address what was going on with him. Instead, they tossed it up to behavioral issues. I am so happy we found Greentree :)

When Chopper, our spirited Doberman, gobbled up a box of grandma’s truffles—yes, those kinds of truffles—our hearts stopped. But Green Tree Animal Hospital was there to catch us. A quick call, a rush to their door, and they were all hands on deck. They worked their magic, getting Chopper to bring up those sneaky sweets, and after some hydration and anti-nausea meds, we were out the door, Chopper a bit groggy but safe. This snapshot, taken as we left the vet, says it all: relief, love, and a vet team at Green Tree who turned panic into gratitude. Chopper’s back to his usual antics, and we’ve got a tale to tell about the day our vet truly saved the day.

Dr Dunphy did not give any transparency about pricing nor did she ask permission before collecting samples (for a cytology) or doing additional services such as cleaning ears. Everything that happened in that appointment was presented as nonnegotiable and Dunphy lacked communication and care when we would ask clarifying questions. Dunphy did what she thought was the best option and did not stop to explain or ask if we would like to pay for any of her suggestions. I have never been to a vet appointment where I’m not given an itemized list all costs and my options before the vet decides to give shots and additional treatments.
