How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Valley Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

My family has been going to this vet for some time now. After a bad eye injury they set my soul to ease, I took him to a vet in Post Falls Idaho. They said he was already blind in his bad eye and it may have to be removed, since I was not in town,I chose to wait until I returned to Ellensburg. And thank God I did, it ends up he can see out of the bad eye and it will stay where God put it. Thank you to all of the folks at Valley Vet for helping me with my little buddy. He's only 13 weeks old.

Our family has used Valley Vet/Cascade Veterinary for over 20 years. We have always had multiple dogs and horses. Never once have I ever questioned any practice, policy or service provided. The staff is top notch and very capable. If you're willing to be calm, listen, ask questions and work *with* their vets and veterinary staff, you'll be 100% satisfied with Valley Vet. Thank you for all that you've done for our animals over the years! You're appreciated!

My frustration with Valley Vet is strictly from an ethical point. I got a kitten from the humane society but he still needed a rabies shot once he was old enough. I made the establish care visit because it’s required for the shot. This I totally understand however they also gave him another vaccination that needs a booster in 3 weeks. When I went to make the appointment for 3 weeks out they told me I had to see the doctor again because it’s their policy to give my cat a physical 2 times before they will give a shot without a doc visit. This makes no sense to me and so I called other local vets. The other vets said this isn’t their policy and that it doesn’t make sense to make someone do a second physical 3 weeks later in order to get the booster. The fact that all our other vets do not agree with nor understand this it feels like they are just trying to make more money. This makes it so I feel like I can’t trust them to do what’s best for my pet if they are trying to make more money. If they will do that then I don’t know if I’m overpaying for medications and procedures too. When I told them that this bothered me they seemed irritated and told me that that is there policy and that it ensures quality of care for my pet and that if I didn’t value quality of care for my pet then I don’t have to be seen there. There is a reason they are the only vet accepting new patients. I recommend comparing prices and practices with other vets…wish I had done that first.

The vet and tech that took care of my dog were amazing. Shiva is usually very nervous and tense when it comes to vet visits but I watched her roll over for belly pets from them a couple of times and she went right up to the vet for a kiss which is unlike her in a vet setting. That tells me she was comfortable with them. I was very pleased with the care we got from this team this weekend.
