How to Save on Veterinary Costs at UrgentVet

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

This past weekend I went to urgent vet on Jefferson ave. for a concern about my kitten, it was very last minute visit and they squeezed me in right away, also calling to make sure we got there okay, my kitten and I were immediately put into an exam room upon arrival. The tech Lainey, and Dr. Templeton took the best care of my kitty and gave me direction on a plan to keep my kitty healthy and happy. After I left they sent me a full report of my visit including all kinds of information on caring for kittens, they even called the next day to check on him. I would highly recommend this Urgent vet if you find your pet, is having a health concern, they will make your pet feel safe and make you feel better.

Rushed here the other night because my cat was unwell. Before I headed out I was able to reserve a time slot so I could be seen up on arrival. The process was very easy and gave me peace of mind that I would not have to wait long. The facility is very nice and clean. My cat was ultimately not seen there but they were able to set up a transfer for a nearby facility who was able to do the emergency treatment he needed.

I had to put my kitty to sleep sort of unexpectedly on a saturday and not only was this place open, but they were punctual, and very sweet and compassionate to the fact that i was losing my baby. 10/10 would 100% recommend this place and would use thrm again in the future if necessary. I also expected it to be way more expensive to get her ashes returned and pawprint done. Not that the price really mattered but it was surprising and refreshing to not be knocked over the head for a last minute weekend visit. Thank you so much to the team of amazing people that helped me say goodbye to my baby 💔

We visited UrgentVet because our 2 kittens were having soft stools, and 1 of them had a concerning dark mark on her nose that had grown, become flaky and scaly, and even raw. The nurse that took their vitals and everything was nice, but the doctor herself was totally condescending and not empathetic at all. She had a negative demeanor and talked down to us multiple times. First, our girls still had cones on post-spay because our vet said to keep the cones on for 14 days. It was Day 12 post-spay, and she said to us “and how do you know when to take the cones off?” in a condescending manner, and we told her our vet said 14 days. She said “yeah, they don’t need these anymore” not in a positive way, but as if we were stupid for following our normal vet’s advice. Second, we mentioned ringworm as the possible cause of our 1 kitten’s scaly, raw mark on her nose. The doctor looked, brushed it with her finger a bunch causing flakes to fall off, disregarded it, and said “I don’t think it’s ringworm” yet gave us zero idea of what she thought it could be. She even described ringworm as usually having bald patches and hair loss, which is something our kitten had on MULTIPLE spots on her face right next to that mark! After visiting UrgentVet, we took our girl to an actual veterinarian and without even mentioning ringworm to the doctor, the doctor took one look at her nose and said “Oh do we have some ringworm here?” Lo and behold, we did a test and she tested POSITIVE for ringworm! Wasted money at this place. Being wrong about the ringworm I can MAYBE understand, but the attitude and negative demeanor were absolutely not necessary or acceptable!

I had a situation and needed somewhere to go to quickly. The staff and doctor were exceptional and they took great care of my Angel. I am now a fan of this urgent care, not just because of the staff but the fact that you need am appointment so you're not just sitting there waiting. Thank you some much for your patience, time and care of my fur baby.
