How to Save on Veterinary Costs at At Home Veterinary Care
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Dr Packer came to our house to help put down Roxy, our 16 year old Australian Shepherd whose kidneys had failed. Dr Packer was kind and compassionate and he let us take our time saying goodbye. It was so much better saying goodbye to Roxy in our home instead of at a vet clinic (Roxy freaks out at the vet). It was of course, very hard to do this, but Dr. Packer made it easier.

I had to call Dr Packer to come help me say goodbye to my dog, Sadie. I knew he was good because he had helped me say goodbye to my cat, Jude. As before, he was very compassionate and didn't rush me at all. He was very gentle with both the injection and of handling Sadie when transferring her to his van. I'll be calling him when it's time for my other pets, too.
