How to Save on Veterinary Costs at EasTex Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.

Communication Preferences

Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.

Breed Specific Health Considerations

Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.

I am always happy to bring my best friends here. I have three Great Danes, and they've been taken care of so well here. Every person who works here is friendly and caring. They are helpful if, for example, your great danes are being stubborn and overwhelming you!

I made 4 calls to other vets yesterday when my bunny started going into stasis, all turned me away and then referred me to east tx vet.. I’m so glad they did, the staff is amazing, the facility is lovely, they don’t typically take bunnies but understood how serious GI stasis is and welcomed us in. They gave him fluids and gave me a ton of support and tools to make sure I could take care of him at home. They saved his life.

They fit both my pups in last minute with minimal wait considering how busy they were. The ladies at the front desk are polite, helpful, and efficient. The vet tech went above and beyond. She was kind, knowledgeable and comforting. The vet was very thorough in her exams and explanation of care. I trust her 100% and so did my dogs. This crew is incredible and their passion for their job puts their level of care miles above the rest. Compassion and care at its finest. They will be our vet for life.

The staff are always friendly and professional. Clean waiting and exam room. Pet oriented. I have taken all my animals there for years and wouldn't consider going anywhere else!

We've taken our cat here and loved it for the longest time! But our most recent experience has us looking at other options. We just adopted a pup, so I went in last Friday to drop off her health history. The receptionist scanned in her documents and we made an appointment for the following Monday so we can get the flea and tick meds the vet offers. Monday rolls around - haddox says they don't have the documents. So I call the receptionist and she said they do have them. Instead of VERIFYING her vaccination history, haddox vaccinated the pup AGAIN. My husband repeatedly told Haddox that the female pup is fixed but Haddox kept asking why we wouldn't get her fixed. This concerns me because the documents I hand delivered to them not only stated what she received prior to being adopted by us, but also what vaccines she is ALLERGIC to. So now I have to go back in to ask for a receipt for that visit because I believe they charged my husband over $100 for unnecessary vaccines because the vet was in a hurry and refuses to look at my dogs records.
