How to Save Money at HSNT Clinic

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Had a wonderful first experience at HSNT clinic! It was well worth the drive to make it downtown Fort Worth. My male cat had a neutur appointment scheduled and Oscar was great to work with. He provided all necessary information and confirmed our appointment the day before. When I arrived at 8am for my cat's drop off Oscar was welcoming and is truly passionate about animals. I felt safe leaving my cat in the hands of the clinic. When picking up my cat it was an informative and quick pick up! Affordable health service fees and a great staff! Highly recommend and a big thank you to you all!

We had the unfortunate need to euthanize our sweet, little old lady this weekend. HSNT was extremely compassionate and handled the situation well. I felt at ease the moment I walked in and was greeted by a very sweet man. He was gentle and respectful about the process, paperwork and payment. I was then escorted to a private room, where i was given the opportunity to say one last goodbye to my girl. The second gentleman was equally kind and compassionate. He used a gentle voice and vocabulary while guiding me through the process. When it was all over, he carried my girl out to me in his arms like a newborn, and had wrapped her up beautifully. I'm grateful they were able to make such a hard experience as wonderful as it was.

Took my new dog in for vaccines. They came out to me with the paper work, saw I had a car full of kids, and offered to take my dog in for me and bring him back out. It was the fastest service, they brought him back almost immediatly. SO thoughtful and kind, and I'm sure kept their office a little less chaotic besides. Definitely will come to them for our future vaccinations!

We had to make the decision to put down our sweet 13 yr old Rott!! He was such a sweet boy, and the best dog anyone could ask for!! We were blessed to have him! From the moment I contacted HSNT, Tim answered all my questions. He was very compassionate and caring. He guided us with the process as this was our very first time going through this. Due to the health of our dog, Tim was able to schedule us in earlier to prevent my boy from suffering. Whe we came to the facility, the staff comforted my family during this painful moment. They were very supportive. They allowed us to bring our dogs huge bed, snacks and allowed all the time we needed to say goodbye to our sweet boy. We were provided info with their vendors from cremation, and the vendors have also been so understanding and caring with us and with our sweet Tiny!!!

My beloved Sammy passed away 01/01/2025... I I brought him to your clinic on 01/02/2025... I was so distraught I could hardly speak so I handed the young man my paperwork from where I had adopted him the gentleman took care of me as if I was his mother. I wish I had ask his name but I was simply emotionally incapable of anything other than crying my eyes out. I'm sure if you look on the computer where he entered my information you could identify this excellent person that took care of me on that day and I really wish you would take the time to do that because he deserves all the pats on the back and good job, thumbs up praise you could possibly give him. He is an amazing young man and most certainly deserves any positive feedback you can give him. My name is at the top of this post so it should not be hard to recognize whom it was. I have used this service before because my animals always live to be elders (except Sammy) so I can say all your employees has stepped forward in the past to make the process as easy as possible for me and even though my heart is still breaking I feel this young man needs to be recognized as an excellent employee. Thank you so much for reading my heart felt comment.
