How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Young's Animal Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Compare Pet Insurance Plans
You can compare coverage options from multiple providers to find a plan that fits your budget and your pet’s healthcare needs.
Getting to Know Your Veterinarian
Choosing a veterinarian is an important decision for pet parents. A strong vet relationship is built on trust, communication, and understanding your pet’s individual needs.
Experience
Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.
Emergency Care Procedures
It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.
Communication Preferences
Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.
Breed Specific Health Considerations
Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.
Facility Tour
If available, touring the clinic can help you and your pet feel more comfortable before the first visit.
Final Note
Pet care decisions often involve both medical and financial considerations. Having access to trusted veterinary information alongside pet insurance comparisons can help pet parents feel more confident when planning for their pet’s health and wellbeing.

Thank you for getting my poodles in so fast! I very much appreciate the help getting them inside. They all had a Spa day yesterday! Highly Recommend this Veterinarian. They always get one of the fam in when we need them!

We have been taking our babies to youngs for a few years now. Unfortunately, we had to get our oldest put down last month. It was our hardest day, but the staff at youngs was so kind. A week later we received a sympathy card and cards with our sweet Daisy's paw prints stamped. They also made a donation to the AVMF in memory of Daisy. They are very thoughtful and truly care about all of the furbabies.

Poor Tippy, she had a Simi emergent/unplanned for sure surgery today, She did great. Although she did not like being away from her mom. Hopefully, the cone and drain tube remain intact for the next 5 days. Tippers is a hyperactive acrobatic dog and will be hard to contain for 5 days. Lord, help me. Tippy is not happy about the cone but very happy to be home.

Avoid this place. They aren't interested in doing what is best for your pet. All they want to do is run costly test and prescribe costly medication immediately without discussing anything. Suggested $900 worth of test and medication off the bat. Then in the middle of speaking the female vet was called and left mid conversation without saying if she was coming back.

so today i took my cat to Young’s to get neutered. i brought him in at 8:30 and picked him up a little after 3. when they brought him out to us they said he had peed on himself in the pet carrier, but he wasn’t happy with them so they couldn’t help him. the least they could’ve done was wipe him down and dry him off. there’s no telling how long he had to sit in that. of course he’s not gonna be happy with strangers who just cut him open. i feel like most people should have the decency to deal with an unhappy cat and somewhat clean him off, rather than letting him sit in his own pee right after surgery.
