How to Save Money at Hermitage Animal Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
10/10 for this place. We would follow Dr Good and his team to the moon if they decided to open up shop there. Unparalleled care for all the animals, quick and easy to set up appointments / get prescriptions. Dr good has quickly become a close friend of the family and we are truly thankful for the care he provides our animals!

Dr. Logan was so nice. She was awesome with my girl. Prices were fair. The staff were friendly and very personable. You can always tell when they really love the animals. The reception area was spotless, and d didn't smell like a vets office! Thank you so for taking care of Cecelia and me!!

I’m really not one to bash a business or write bad reviews but I’m so frustrated. I’ve been with this vet since I got my 7 week old kitten and they’ve been great with him everytime until now. He’s been tested for everything under the sun, he’s had blood work done, etc. I’ve spent over $800. He has been completely healthy. I took him to be neutered the other day. They said drop off is 7:00am. Dropped him off and went home. I called at 11:30 asking for an update and they said he was “up next for surgery”. First of all, why do I have to drop him off HOURS in advance for him to be sitting in a box until 1pm. ( not to mention he was covered in pee & so was his blanket )I got a call at 2:30 saying there was an incident with his surgery and he had passed away and wasn’t waking up from the anesthesia. Doctor Ray said we could come see him and gave us two options. Cremation or we could bury him. One would think that since my cat died under your care, you would take care of the cremation but nope. Tried to say that would be around $380. It’s just ridiculous. Picked him up and he was just covered in pee and it broke my heart. I never got a true explanation as to what happened except that it was an accident and could’ve been an underlying heart condition. I’m just disappointed with how this all played out and so extremely sad I lost my 5 month old kitten to a “routine” procedure. I understand accidents happen but what I’m most upset about is the fact that my kitten was alone in a box peeing on himself for over 6 hours before he was even seen. I wish the doctor would’ve provided a better explanation as to why this happened and/ or if ANYTHING happened during the surgery that could’ve caused him to not wake up. I wish we were compensated for his death and I wish my kitten was treated better than he was. I’m truly disappointed and heartbroken.

We are always greeted with great big welcoming smiles. I trust Shannon and Dr. Goode completely, and my animals are proof of the thought and care they put into each patient. A huge Thank You from the whole family.

Really mixed emotions about this vet clinic. They took great care of our dog when he needed surgery, the staff was always very kind. Our cat however was diagnosed by Dr Ray as having "either a fungal infection of the lungs or lung cancer", for which we treated her for weeks with a course of antifungals with no effect. She was therefore diagnosed with lung cancer, only months to live, and we cried many tears over that. Our other cat had a serious reaction to the purevax rabies vaccine at an emergency clinic so we are hesitant to get that for any of our cats again, and we were told that if we refuse to vaccinate with purevax we will be denied treatment, even though our cat diagnosed with cancer is indoor-only and therefore not at risk for rabies. No hard feelings over that, it's their right to refuse care for whatever reason. But as a result we sought other care. More than a year later, our cat diagnosed with cancer became particularly wheezy, and we took her in to our new vet expecting the worst and letting them know about her cancer diagnosis. Our new vet took x rays and said there is NO way a cat with lung cancer had survived more than a year doing as well as she was, and that she was simply severely asthmatic, did NOT have cancer, and couldn't believe she hadn't been prescribed an inhaler sooner. It hurts my heart to think how many asthma attacks we watched her have, thinking at any moment it might be her last, without any way to help just because she was misdiagnosed. All she needed was an inhaler and a course of steroids every now and then when she gets a flare up. She has been thriving ever since. There are good vets at this clinic and there are some really questionable vets at this clinic. I can't say I'd recommend it.
