How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Northwest Veterinary & Supply

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

We have used this clinic for cremation services for 3 of our beloved elderly pets so far. We have always been treated with the utmost compassion and kindness by all the staff, everything in the way they handle the entire process, from answering the phone, to the drop off and pick up of remains, is done with so much care and respect. I have been moved to tears by the kindness of the staff every time I've come here- twice this year as I've lost two of my old sweet pups this summer, which has been truly heartbreaking. It means so much, having someone else treat the loss of your pet as if it's personal to them, even when they didn't ever get to meet your pet, it just shows so much compassion and it's greatly appreciated more than words can express. I live closer to lake Andes than Wagner so we use the vet in Lake for our routine animal care, but if our vet ever happens to be unavailable or I need services they don't offer, I would pick this clinic as my first backup choice, just based on the excellent customer service and genuine compassion demonstrated by the staff here. This vet clinic is a blessing to the Wagner area for sure.

Lost all their good help in the store. Have great veterinarians. Don’t appreciate the arrogant person in there now. Have done business there for over 15 years. Feeling let down. Update I talked to the owner Dave Barz and he didn’t write the reply below from the owner.

The doctors and staff are awesome! Although they don't specialize in small animal veterinary care, they were patient, thorough, and set us on the right path to address or fur baby's medical conditions.
