I've only ever needed them for basic checkups, and to euthanize a 16 year old dog and a cat sick with kidney failure. I was encouraged by Dr S. to prolong his life with IV saline injections, which I thought was kind of cruel. I chose not to, and chose to end his suffering instead. Now I have a new dog. I suspect he needs worming, so I made an appointment, but the aide kept requesting a fecal sample for testing. From longtime experience, I know that those tests aren't reliable. You pay for the test, it comes up negative, and they treat for worms anyway. I don't like these sales schemes, not built around helping me take care of my animals as best I can.

Dr. Whalen and his team were phenomenal in getting my wife’s dog, Ruger, in for an emergency. We’re so thankful for Dr. Whalen enlightening us on the dynamics of male dogs and making us feel better. Such a terrible situation but he really came thru for us. Highly recommend 🙏🏼

Dr. Whalen & Czerny and their staff have always been fantastic. They are so knowledgeable and caring. I know my dog is in safe hands every time we walk through those doors. I would recommend Animal Care Center any day of the week! They’re truly amazing!

This animal Care Center was wonderful. I brought my English bulldog in for a UTI and they diagnosed it quickly we're very compassionate and gentle with her and the doctor was amazing as were all of his assistants. You are so fortunate to have such a gym located in spearfish! I was traveling from Montana and they we're so compassionate and caring. Wonderful animal clinic and great with dogs!
