How to Save Money at Pet Vet Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google

We have always had a great experience at Pet Vet. My youngest always has a million questions when I have her in tow, and the entire staff could not be more kind in taking the time to answer her and let her be involved in our pups care! Not to mention they take good care of our animals! Highly recommend.

I'm writing this review as I feel it is pertinent to get this information out to the public. I agree with the reviews before that Dr. King is great with animals and overall I think he truly cares. With this said, the rest of the team does not provide the same standards of care. They missed not 1 but 2 separate cancers in my dog. Luckily the first was a slow growing sarcoma. After 3 visits to them over a years time, they finally did a biopsy to find out it was cancer and she was sent to a surgical specialist to have it removed fully. We were lucky this was a tumor that could surgically be removed and had very low chance of becoming metastatic. After this, she developed a lesion on her leg that was suspicious. I obviously was more proactive as well because she already had one delayed diagnosis with cancer. I and my husband were brushed off about this lesion again and again for over a year as it continued to grow. We were told it was likely a ruptured cyst, fungal infection, etc. As a physician myself I was concerned but continued to be told it was not an issue and had to have trust in those that treat animals. I finally made an appointment with Dr. King and requested it to be excised. It came back as a faster growing cancer (mast cell) that has now metastasized. Had this lesion been taken seriously up front (instead we had 4 visits just for this lesion!), they could have obtained clear margins and potentially saved our dog. As a physician, I realize human error and I can understand the first tumor being pushed off. But vets are there to pick up on the things that can really hurt our animals (just like human physicians) and they failed miserably at this. To the degree that even on their notes, documented normal findings that were not normal on our dog. I am beyond sickened and disappointed at this neglectful care. This should not happen to anyone and I can only hope that this review makes them do a better job so others do not have to experience what I did. Make sure you go somewhere were people listen to you and take your concerns seriously about your pet. This is unfortunately not the place.

They are the most compassionate vet we have ever been to. After dropping off our boy Chico today, it was decided later in the day to let him go. Too many problems and sickness to subject him to much more. I spoke with Dr. Luke and we decided to come back in a say goodbye. They put us in a room with a couch and paintings and photos on the wall, soft lighting and fabric covering the ceiling. This made us feel like we were in our home instead of a clinical setting. We brought our other dog Chaco with us, who was his brother and they laid on the couch together and we got as much time as we needed. When it was time Chaco cuddled next to Chico and then he was gone. I have never been anywhere where they care every bit as much for the pet parents as they do for the pet. They made this difficult time for us bearable and will always be grateful.
