How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Banfield Pet Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Making an appointment is easy however this is not the ideal place to take a cat. I made an early appointment and my cat sat in a cage which got him worked up and he was not seen for several hours later. I paid services that were not completed because the cat sat in a cage and got worked up. Also dog owners were permitted to go back in the exam room but not cat owners. This had happened with three other appointments. I had to switch to a vet that could keep the scheduled appointment. The vet techs were very nice and so was the vet. The problem is with the organizations policies. This was post pandemic so there was no excuse

I have been taking my baby here for 12 yrs. I have the Banfield wellness plan. I would give them a 4 star. However I did have an additional fur baby and was strong armed by the Wellness plan to the tune of 450 for 1 yr despite having removed him. I verified this policy and told them I was in a financial hard spot due to having a car that was a lemon at the time. They were unmoved. I even tried speaking to a manager 2 to 3xs. No deduction or adjustment was given. I was told it was 'corporate policy'. So, I wasn't pleased with this so called 'corporate policy'. To my understanding there was a recent acquisition, and the customer service has declined after CO vid. Like many things, it is mediocre. I prefer to go to Petco for anal gland expression. But, the grooming was above average at the beginning of the year with a coupon.

Multiple problems with my visit. I took my newly rescued kitten to the vet and for a general check up and an eye screen. They claim that first exam is free. Now makes sense why, because there is no exam! Paid $150 for an eye screen. They missed my cat having missing patches of hair and ringworm which my whole family ended up getting as well as worms. She is now in quarantine and doing better. Save your money and pass on this place.

I have been taking my schnauzers to the Lexington location since it opened. I couldn't be happier with the level of genuine love, care and compassion they show to their animals. I have always received great customer service before during and after their appointments with follow up calls. Great place!
