How to Save Money at hampton park veterinary

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

-My just had my first appointment with Hampton Park Veterinary, and was assisted by Becca. I can’t say enough great things about my recent experience at the vet with Becca! She was absolutely amazing with my dog, who can be a bit nervous in these situations. Becca’s calm and friendly demeanor immediately put us both at ease. She took the time to explain everything in detail and answered all of my questions patiently. What really stood out was how gentle and caring she was with my pup, treating him like her own. It’s clear Becca genuinely loves animals and is passionate about her work. She turned what’s usually a stressful appointment into a positive experience. If you’re looking for someone who’s professional, compassionate, and exceptional at their job, Becca is the one! Highly recommend her to anyone visiting this clinic. Shout out to Dr. Baxter as well, he was great, quick, and explained everything to me very well.

Friendly team members - Very sweet and knowledgeable. Dr. Gjivoje was gentle with my kitten. They made her feel like the star of the show. There was an instant bond between Roan (my kitten) and Adrianna (Medical Team Member). It was so nice to see the genuine care she treated Roan with throughout our entire visit. We will be going back!

None your Business

God send no other vet would even consider helping wadjet since her kidneys levels are slightly elivated . Which I believe was from the tooth that they extracted and the excess bacteria on teeth and gums. They all looked at levels not the cat itself because the Dr here knew there’s more to medicine than just levels. There is cause an effect an also ways to work with higher levels when one can think critically not indoctrinated like. They know what they are doing as her kidneys levels are levels are same as they were before the procedure because of the excellent knowledge of how the body an anesthesia works! It’s also very clear they LOVE what they are doing too because they didn’t try to over charge me like other places did since they didn’t know what they were doing and needed to bring in outside specialists. They added sooo much quality life to my cats remaining time herein earth. They also went above and beyond in other things they saw needed done and did it. The lazer procedure to take the small growth off her face was sooo much more efficient at healing than old traditional ways of surgery. No cone needed !!! Any cat owner knows how hard those are to keep on our babies ! We will be a patient for the remainder of her kitty existence and I would highly recommend this center that integrates traditional and non traditional practices or ways to administer medicine.

I can't say enough great things about Hampton Park Veterinary! I needed to take my dog on an international trip, which required extensive paperwork to meet the entry requirements for another country. Jennifer and her team were absolutely amazing in guiding me through the entire process. Thanks to their expertise and dedication, I was able to fulfill my dream of traveling to Colombia, South America, with my dog for an extended stay. They handled all the paperwork for both countries, ensured my dog received the necessary vaccinations, and made the entire experience seamless. If you're planning to fly internationally with your pet, I highly recommend Hampton Park Veterinary. Their knowledge and support made all the difference. Thank you again!
