How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Kinzua Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Getting to Know Your Veterinarian

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.

Communication Preferences

Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.

Breed Specific Health Considerations

Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.

I wanted to take the opportunity to THANK the Kinzua Vet Clinic and your staff for treating us and our 18 1/2 year old cat Chloe (our baby) with dignity & respect on one of the hardest days any pet parent has to go through!!! Chloe was not even a patient of yours and not only did you take us in when we needed you the most but then getting your sympathy card along with her paw prints enclosed was such a thoughtful, loving gesture which meant so much to us. If you treated us and Chloe so thoughtfully and respectfully on her last day, I can't even imagine how you treat All of your patients throughout their lives. God bless you and all of the work you do. You certainly made a difference in our lives!

They're always very thorough and friendly. Over the years, we've had a couple of emergencies, and they've accommodated us very well even though they are so busy. We're appreciative 🙏

my cat was having a stroke. STROKE. they wouldn’t take my cat at all, even after giving record as the requested, the doctors still wouldn’t see her. If a human was having a stroke you think a doctor wouldn’t take them? NO. so if your pet is having a life threatening emergency go ahead and skip the trouble of even asking to take them here.

My son’s dog was gravely ill and our veterinarian was not available. We called MANY Vets in a tri-county area but none would see him as he was not their patient. Kinzua Veterinary Care was the exception. Sadly, his beloved friend needed to be set free of his pain, but this staff and Doctor showed both the dog and my son the most incredible amount of empathy and care. I can’t thank them enough and would recommend this facility and staff to anyone who truly believes pets are “family”. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You!
