How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Sycamore Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

The vets and staff at Sycamore are great and the facilities are always clean. Not only are they friendly but everyone there is very welcoming and accommodating to any questions you have. I've been taking my dog there for a year, and we are never rushed out from an appt. When my dog has required immediate attention, they've been amazing at getting us in quickly. Really appreciate all the care that they put into their work!

dr weiss and dr applebaum are two of the best doctors i have ever dealt with. the entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable, from the front desk to the technicians, and they all genuinely put the pets best interest first. the hospital works on a “fear free” basis, meaning they do not force anything to happen, they don’t pin animals down to just “get things done” - they all take their time with scared or anxious pets, and really focuses on learning what works best for each individual. overall this is a great hospital with gold standard medicine and care!

I was very impressed with the care provided to our cat during our visit. Dr. Weiss and Natalie were very careful handling him and I was very grateful for this. He is extremely shy and they read him well! We didn’t feel rushed during our visit, all our questions were answered and the overall communication was fantastic! The staff checked in immediately the following day to see how he is doing. Very pleased overall!

Fantastic and very personalized service from start to finish. The team of nurses and my vet doctor were extremely nice, patient, and very thorough with my ragdoll cat. The only downside was that the bill was very expensive unfortunately.
