How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Mc Kees Rocks Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

I didn't really have a bad experience here with the doctor. I did have issues though getting a hold of someone to make appointments and to get a reference for a pet adoption. I had gone here from 2000 till about two years ago. When I switched to a vet that was closer and would actually answer the phone I had my records for my pets faxed over. They actually had lost two of my pets files. Two that were there many times and one of them had a serious illness that I had no records for. This past weekend one of my senior pets may have needed to go to the emergency room if a treatment didn't take. So my current vet copied all of his records and gave them to me. To my surprise when I later read through his records the ones from McKeese Rocks vet had personal unjust notes about me. I am pretty upset over this because I went there for years check ups and emergency appointments. I was never mad or upset with anyone there. And to read their notes that they faxed over to my new vet is unprofessional. This makes me feel like the comfert I received when I put pets down as phony and that the people didn't care about myself or my pets.

Dr. Risa and her staff always bend over backwards to accommodate animals and their people. I have never had an issue there. Dr. Risa always gives options of treatment and the cost of each. I find her much more informative than my own physician in terms of explaining what she suspects is wrong, and what the pros and cons are of various treatments.

Your pet couldn't get more attention than these people give. Prices are very reasonable, especially for surgery.
