How to Save Money at The Pet Care Clinic

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I love this pet clinic, all the employees are incredible, very attentive, they are very patient and explain the entire procedure. I definitely recommend this pet clinic and everything at an excellent price. If you want a good service and at a good price, you have to go to this pet clinic.

We would like to just thank all of our wonderful clients for all the awesome reviews posted here. We do try our very best to accommodate every pet in need. We'd also like to say that we are extremely busy & cannot take in emergency visits. That is why we have emergency clinics. WE ARE NOT AN EMERGENCY CLINIC. This is true of all regular animal clinics. It is not fair to post a negative review simply because we could not fit you in on that day. Although emergency clinics are costly and some people cannot afford the fees, this is not OUR fault. It is also not fair to say we are not compassionate. We are very compassionate, but we are also human & cannot physically or mentally work around the clock. It also is not fair to our scheduled appointments that may have to wait while we take in emergencies. When we cannot get you in, we always hand out a list of emergency clinics/animal hospitals in the area that may be able to get a sick pet in. We love what we do...it is truly our passion, but there are only so many hours in a day that we can help. If we have an opening, of course we will accommodate, but that is not always the case. We are very sorry but we are doing the very best we can. To those of you that left good reviews/comments....we are truly grateful & appreciate your patience and understanding.

My cat was very sick and she needed antibiotics so I waited for the pet care clinic to open. I’m panicking making sure my baby is OK. I waited for the receptionist or whoever she was to open. I patiently gave her at least 10 minutes before I try to open the door to see if I can get my cat to be seen. She finally came out and told me it’s by appointment only she gave me some paper with some other veterinarians that were not goal of giving an appointments She was very rude, unethical and lack empathy. I was the first one there she could’ve squeezed me in, but she assumed I was, not with funds. Basically she thought I was broke. She kept explaining to the other vets aren’t that expensive this and that I sat in my car and cried for about five minutes I had to pray. I was in tears all the way home then on my Instagram feed I seen Dutch an online veterinarian service that that was very compassionate, immediate response. The appointment was online, and the veterinarian was definitely empathetic, loving and caring and understanding and very knowledgeable that made my day from the awful time. I waited for them to open at the the pet care clinic, so I’m glad my London girl, my for baby got her medicine today, regardless of the day of the pet care clinic started off with …..I recommend to go online veterinarian clinic Dutch before going here ……..

The surgery procedure is less than desirable. I know the staffing is low but a quick text to say your best friend made it through surgery fine would be a lot better than waiting for a call at 8PM or not at all, dropping off your four legged child for surgery waiting 13 hours for any news is horrible. They are nice people but that procedure for procedures sux.

Wonderful staff and Dr. I called last minute for our sick dog that needed to be put down. We live 30min from Hazleton and they gave us the last appointment. They provided us support at this difficult time.
