How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Riverside Veterinary Clinic
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Took my dog in. Was told there would be a $90 charge to see it. I said fine. I left the dog to go go get the money before I could get back. I was called by a nasty veterinarian telling me that I was in breach of contract to come get my dog.. I went in and paid them their $90, They never even weighed my dog gave it back to me kept my money and did nothing. Horrible people would not deal with them. All they care about is their money. I think they should give me my money back since they did not even weigh him. Outrageous

We had a very good experience here with our dog Macy. We were visiting from Seattle when she developed a slight issue with an incision site from a tooth extraction. We were worried about getting her in but the receptionist Robin worked with us and fit us in at the end of the day. Dr. Matthews and her assistant Britney were very good; polite, professional and thorough. They checked her vitals, examined the site and verified there were no infections. They were able to snip a small stitch to solve the issue.

I had to take my little dog to Riverside as no one else had walk in or room for emergencies. He had been attacked by a much bigger dog and had huge puncture holes in his gut and entire belly was blue. Of course there is paperwork at some point in the process.i do understand that ...Before the tech even looked at the wounds I was told I had sign an estimate... 350-750$ before the doc even saw him. I signed it. I told them I would have to get a loan from my fam. I left him there as the tech said he would be taken care of. I left to get some money from family ... I made the mistake of telling them I did not get paid until fri. But was going to see what I could do. 15 min later, the veterinarian called to tell me to see if I had money yet. I reminded her I dud not get pd until fri. And I had not had the opportunity to speak to my fam abt. A loan. She told me that then I should come and pick him up . Also that it would be 90 $for the visit. . When I told her that I had not got to get money yet she replied "you can't even pay for an office visit? Definitely note of discust! Also added "that's not how this works you need to come pick up your animal. I never said I wasn't paying. I paid for the visit It was very sad to pick up my dog who was clearly hurt. But was sent home to die ... or not. I paid the 90$ for the office visit in which the dr . Refused to help him. Didn't clean his wounds or anything. Not even sure she even looked sounds like she read what the tech said. He was moving fine and walking when I left....he is not moving now! Prob has internal bleeding. So I paid 90. To be degraded by the rudest vet ever and to watch my dog struggle to breath or move. Hes not eating or drinking now. And I'm lost until I can pay upfront. I'm pretty pissed that walking into your filthy , smelly waiting room, sitting filthy chairs. And speaking to a tech for less than 5 min. Consists of an office visit.

A year ago they botched the growth removal surgery on my dog. The wound was still partially opened and the dressing on it wasn't put on well. It led to 2 months of treating an infected wound. The sutures ended up needing redone by Oregon Trail Vet in Hermiston (5 stars btw!) and they took over her care from there. HOWEVER, this place did not even remove the growth completely and did not communicate that. My dog had to be put to sleep a year later from cancer that had spread from the growth, and the growth was too big to safely operate on by the time she was well enough for it. Now for the recent problems: Last week or so I had requested my cat's medical records to be faxed or emailed to to other vet, the receptionist told me it would be done. Upon going to her vet appointment today I was told Riverside did not follow through. Oregon Trail Vet had called them earlier in the week for the records and someone from Riverside stated "I'll get to it when I get the time." Guess we'll see if they'll physically release the records to my family before I move!!

Riverside Veterinary Clinic was a wonderful clinic while Dr Fine was there but once he retired he was replaced with Dr Jones, a veterinarian who does not even attempt to interact with her patients and is completely devoid of compassion. I will NEVER take a pet to her again.
