How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Woodland West Animal Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Getting to Know Your Veterinarian

Experience
Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.
Emergency Care Procedures
It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.
Communication Preferences
Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.
Breed Specific Health Considerations
Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.
Facility Tour
If available, touring the clinic can help you and your pet feel more comfortable before the first visit.

I live 2 hours away and the helped me with scheduling to fit around my drive time. Once I arrived the staff was very friendly and was very sweet to my dog. The Dr. called me daily with updates on my girl, it was very refreshing to actually talk to the Dr. On checkout they explained everything very carefully and made me feel at ease. I was very nervous about leaving my girl for three days at a vet 2 hours away but the experience went very well and they helped me to not be so worried. Thank you Woodland!

I follow this YouTube page Odin the German Shepard and you guys made my blood boil after his owner Dale shared the story how you treated Odin! Some people are right you are just in business for the money and not a single care for all the loving animals part of people’s families! He’s still waiting for his money back though, he said he’ll delete the 2 videos when he does and they’re still up. RIP Odin buddy, I hope you are able to run up there and made friends with my lab Spencer who passed years ago.

Excellent care for my dog! Very professional office staff, veterinarian technician and doctor. We have had two other dogs over the years and this was the best visit that we have ever had! Highly recommend.

I had to say goodbye to my sweet baby,Buddy yesterday. These guys were wonderful helping us through a very difficult time, giving my baby lots of love and allowing us all the time we needed to help him be comfortable in his final moments. I would like to thank the Dr. And staff for all the love and compassion they showed to my sweet baby and my husband and I.

Took my cat there Thursday june 6. I told them i had 140.00 dollars on me they wanted 63.00 for exam and 163.00 for blood work. I told them to give me a hour and I would have the money. For some reason they wouldn't wait on me to go get the money. They Charged me 140.00 for visit. They gave him antibiotics. he died June 9 Sunday last night. Money is more important than your pet to them. What was the big deal 1 hour to get money for blood work but. They refused. Do not take your animal the unless you have a visa gold card. money is there only concern. Today i sit here without my best friend. DON'T EVER USE THIS PLACE if you care about your animal
