How to Save Money at STATVet Animal Urgent Care at Cherry Street
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

This is a wonderful place, would highly recommend, and I am so glad we made the quick decision to come here. Long story short, My best friend fell ill after negligent care from his vet. He was over medicated with steroids and antibiotics unbeknownst to me a few months prior.. Sunday, December 1, 2024, my boy was just not himself and we had to act fast. Dr. Decker was amazing! She was honest about what could be done, how much it would cost, but most importantly when I asked what SHE would do if Frank were hers, she told me honestly that she would not want to see her dog suffer any longer. That was all we needed to hear. She did not push services for her own pockets and this was the best decision. Very thorough and Thanks to Dr. Decker we also found out serious things going on with my dog that our vet never bothered to tell us because his vet never tested our dog's blood or other routine things that would have been helpful. Unfortunately not knowing these things cost my best friend his life. However, Dr. Decker and her staff were so wonderful, it made letting him go a little bit easier. They were so caring, diligent, went the extra mile to explain EVERY detail of the process and gave us as much time as we wanted or needed to be with Frank before he left this realm. The girls even decorated his box. My family and I are forever grateful. Feel free to post this on FB, or anywhere else.

Dr. Decker, Dr. Toffoli, Kayla, and Alexis, thank you so much for taking care of my baby Blanche!! I’ve never seen her so sick, and I was frantic and upset, and you guys truly went above and beyond. You treated her like your own and truly gave her the best care when she was so scared and sick. You did all the work helping me transfer her to care that’s overnight and THEN followed up the next day!! This type of care is unheard of. Truly thank you so much ! Anyone that has a fur baby should take them here! Thanks to you guys, my son and I have her here today.

I have to take my 5 month old miniature dachshund for an injured paw. They were so great with him. They thought it was fractured, but luckily it wasn’t. The texting is a really cool feature. They took great care of my guy even when he was resisting the sedation for his x-ray. I also love that they personalized his take home bag. Customer care is second to none. They were busy, but they were very communicative about the time and wait.

We are so thankful for STATVet! Our girl Charlotte got in a fight with her sister and ended up needing minor surgery on her leg. She is a very anxious pup who has a hard time with new people, but the staff here treated her so sweetly and made her feel safe. I usually am very nervous about taking her to the vet due to her anxiety but I was at ease on our visits here. Also, there are big windows so you can see back into the procedure room too. The transparency and kindness provided at this office was incredible and I highly recommend them

Fabulous staff. Excellent care, affordable rates. Reached out to us over the following days to ensure he was doing well. Our a 160 pound rottweiler, Bear, will go back there anytime. He has got himself into something that he shouldn't have...lol
