How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Nichols Hills Pet Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

The veterinarians at Nichols Hills Pet Clinic are highly knowledgeable and compassionate. They treated my pet with the utmost care and made sure to keep me informed throughout the entire process. It’s evident that they genuinely care about the well-being of the animals they treat. I highly recommend Nichols Hills Pet Clinic to anyone in need of veterinary services. Their commitment to excellent customer service and top-notch animal care is truly commendable. I will always bring my pets here to see Dr. Robertson for all their needs.

Dr is caring and knowledgeable. She loves my dog more than I do. She prescribed the proper medicine and now my dog is doing very well.

The entire staff takes excellent care of my pups. I've done all of my annual visits and emergency visits at Nichols Hills Veterinary Clinic for the past 4+ years, and I've never had a single complaint. Dr. Bowles is very caring and patient, and explains everything I need to know in understandable detail. If at all possible, this will be my vet forever.

I have gone to NHV for years. I took my dog in recently for annual vaccines where he caught an upper respiratory infection. When I called back for help with his sickness they were short with me saying my dog didn't catch it there. They did offer "cough pills" that they charged me for. I ended up taking him to another vet, after 4 days of non-stop coughing & hacking, where he was diagnosed with kennel cough. It cost me almost $700 to test, x-rays, & meds. When I told NHV about the positive test, they front office guy said he would make sure the vet knew about it. I never heard from anyone! It's pretty clear this vet does not care about my pets. I will not return.

This place is notorious for being so busy it affects customer service and care. I called last week to just ask a question, and of course, they wanted me to bring my dog in. Fine. They told me they’re only doing curbside appointments. I told them I’d figure something else out. The world has opened back up, so why are we still doing this? I think they got comfortable with not having to deal with customers and it’s easier for them just so see the dog and send it back out. My dog isn’t an item to be dropped off. She gets very anxious the minute we pull up, because she knows where we are. I want to be there with her every step of the way. If it’s something like a surgery, I understand, but not a simple appointment. More importantly, I want to SEE my vet. I want to ask questions, and explain to them what happening to my dog. I’m not gonna give a list concerns to the vet tech and hope she remembers to ask them. I’ve been taking my dog here for about 7-8 years. This is a little ridiculous that they’re still doing this. I’m gonna go somewhere else.
