How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Northwest Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

All the staff are awesome. My dog is nervous when he goes to the Vet but they do a wonderful job with calming music and the way they handle my big guy Thor. I stayed on after Covid hit and the practice was sold and I have nothing but good things to say.

Easy to set appointment. It’s nice they proactively reach out for scheduled appointment. Dr Hollenbach’s team is well trained on how to handle reactive dogs. Lots is positive reinforcement. Much appreciated

I got an appointment within minutes! They are very thorough and moved without delay. The visit was calm and reassuring. No stone was left unturned. Still waiting on some labs and follow up but I am confident I am now in the right path. The doctor and tech are just formidable! And the cat was submissive and compliant. Thank you!!!

We have brought our pup Carl here for years. From routine check-ups and vaccinations to an emergency we had a while back, they have been amazing. They are super friendly, attentive, great at answering questions, and always make sure you are aware of the price of everything before they proceed, which is always much appreciated. We have recommended them to friends and will continue to do so!

We took our dog here for a bacterial skin infection. We previously took him to 3 other vets who did not really figure out what was wrong with him, just kept saying allergies and giving him steroids. NWH got our boy healthy again and did all the testing necessary to know exactly how to help him. Before and after photos below. So happy to see him relax for once instead of itching out of his mind. They also charge pretty minimal prices, they even found ways to help us get some medications cheaper. Update 3/12/24: We still take our dog here, they're the best! Our dog is the healthiest he's ever been and he loves seeing every staff member.
