How to Save Money at Dogs Only Medical Center
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I just visited Dr Prescott with my 12 week old puppy Bo! She was AWESOME! I had shopped around vets for a while and landed with her. She was great! Explained everything in depth and answered all my questions. Even when they took Bo back to trim his nails (I was not expecting that he would be taken out of the room) so naturally I had a worried look on my face. She noticed and right away got up and took me to check out where he was and what they were doing. This made me feel so much better right away! Dr. Prescott and the nurse told me everything they were doing with Bo before they did it and explained in depth. She also gave me tips on where to buy the best collars/ leash , toys and many more! Price was much less than I had paid at Bo’s first visit that was at a different vet, and I feel I got way more info with Dr Prescott on my pup and what’s to come with his puppy stages and tips and tricks for training and everything. She sent me home with packets that were laid out with photos and everything and very informative! I 100% as a FIRST TIME pup owner recommend Dr Prescott!! Especially if you’re anything like me and worry about your pup always!!! Thank you so much Dr. Prescott and the whole team at Dogs Only Medical Center! Bo can’t wait to come back again next month! 🥰🐶

Amazing new location! I worked for Dr. Prescott for almost three years and I continue to take my dogs to her for treatment. It’s because I trust Dr. Prescott and her staff more than anyone else with my dogs preventative care and treatment. They are very thorough and sincerely love all dogs that walk through their doors. As I maintain a great relationship with the doctor and staff, I am satisfied with every visit to Dogs Only Medical Center. I highly recommend this veterinary practice for your dog/s. In addition to the excellent service that the doctor and her staff provide, this place is spotless! I always appreciate a place of business that goes above and beyond to maintain the cleanliness of the practice.

Dogs Only is a wonderful place to take your dogs. Dr. Prescott and her entire staff are friendly, patient, and reassuring every time we go in there. Recently, one of our dogs became unexpectedly ill. Dr. Prescott spent a significant amount of time discussing things with us and helping us to make a plan. She took great care of our dog, and us at the same time. She has always been very kind, competent, compassionate, and loving toward our dogs.

We received care for our 4 year old golden doodle. We have been searching for a vet close to our new home and read reviews all over on different vets. We decided to call dogs only due to the fact that the vet was kind to our last golden doodle when it came to her shots for traveling overseas. This was not the case recently. We brought our dog in due to an ear infection that seemed to just come about. I personally care for my dogs grooming, so she does not go to have her ears or glands cleaned regularly. The vet made sure to give all the antibiotics via injection rather than confirming that was the only route we'd like to go after they found her anal glands to be infected. She also sent off an ear culture due to the wax build up and the irregular smell coming from our dogs ears. It came back as a yeast infection. We also reviewed our pups weight and put her on a restricted diet. Why do we give this a 1-star review? The vets bedside manner. We will not be going back to this vet due to our experience emotionally. She has scarred our opinions of any vets as we had hoped to find one that cared about our dogs and find how much we love her to be endearing, but instead, we felt attacked. We will not be referring anyone to this site or partners. As you can see in other reviews, she has replied in defense of herself. If this is to happen, we have evidence of her demeanor via an email she sent due to our confusion. We apologized, but her lack of professionalism has already spoken volumes
