How to Save on Veterinary Costs at York Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

The staff was very comforting as we said goodbye to our precious "Scratch" man. They gave us all of our options, and even let us into a private room 30 minutes before our appointment time.

The dog rescue I volunteer for uses York for most of the dogs’ vetting and issues that come up or they’re surrendered with. The doctors here are all top notch and the support staff is awesome and responsive, as well. It’s too far from us to use for our own animals, but if we were closer, we would.

I have taken six cats here in total and each time I am more than happy with their services. Most importantly, price-wise they are similar to most vets but on the slightly lower end. They accept Care Credit so there is at least one option to get your pet help if they urgently need it and you don't have cash on hand to pay up front. Staff is always friendly and helpful, reception goes out of their way to answer questions and never make you feel like a bother. The inside is great as well, and the free water bottles and single-serve coffee maker is a nice bonus! As well as the little jars of cat and dog treats for their furry patrons of course.

Beyond thankful for Dr Kaye! After 1 visit with her we had options for our dog. (He has allergies but our 2 previous vets never told us that or gave us any help for relief). Dr Kaye was very informative and you could tell she truly cared for the animals. We now have him on a treatment plan and he's got his energy and personality back. Can not recommend York Animal Hospital enough!
