How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Town & Country Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Getting to Know Your Veterinarian

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.

Communication Preferences

Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.

Breed Specific Health Considerations

Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.

Facility Tour

If available, touring the clinic can help you and your pet feel more comfortable before the first visit.

I called the potsdam clinic for an emergency visit. They told me Ogdensburg had spots open still! I called and called and called for 30 minutes straight. Finally got through an hour later and they were booked. My dog has 10 puppies and they are only 10 days old and she is going septic! Now I am calling vets ten hours away trying to get in because I just keep getting pushed to the side. Nobody cares my nursing dog can't feed her babies let alone herself. If she don't get help soon she may not make it and neither will her pups! Thank you for answering your phone the ten times I called in a row after being told you most definitely had spots open for my dog today! I will let someone else rip me off in hopes of saving my 11 dogs. Thank you town and country for your help! Not

I am so grateful to the vets at this clinic because they suture both layers. The glue doesn't seem to stay closed. Thank you to Town and Country Vets for participating and being only one of the two vets that work with the SpayNeuterNow program and for being close by. You have helped me greatly in reaching my goal of getting all the ferals I rescued spayed/neutered. Thank you again Town and Country Vets Ogdensburg and Potsdam offices.
