How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Lake Placid Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Both my cats have visited this animal hospital and they are wonderful! They took lots of time explaining things to me and genuinely enjoyed my animals. My cats have never been so happy with a vet visit.

It was ok, the Tech that came to get our dog was friendly, didn't get a bad vibe from her. Just wished they were more comforting when your dog isn't doing great( we had to put him down) he was suffering

I’ve brought my dog here since he was an 8 week old puppy (he’s 4 now). After my experience today I felt like I had to leave a review. LPAH goes above and beyond for our local animals, Griffin got neutered here and has been treated for ear infections and overall general care. Most importantly I want to give props to Courtney and Ruth. They’ve always been unbelievably kind, professional and so good with my dog. Ruth will go through estimates/pricing/paperwork/options throughly and Courtney is just an animal whisperer I swear, my dog loves her! The doctors here can be hit or miss but the techs and office staff are the reason we will be a patient for life!

We had an emergency with our dog in the middle of the night while visiting family in Wilmington at Christmas. Google brought us to this clinic and we were lucky. The doctor was compassionate and obviously knowledgeable. I appreciated her straightforward and thoughtful manner when dealing with our dog. The outcome wasn’t what we wanted, but Eli was treated with care and kindness as were we. We would highly recommend this clinic to locals or people in from out of town.
