How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Banfield Pet Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I brought my baby girl sparkles to Banfield the first time because I need to put her to sleep I just need to say that the staff from the front desk to the people in the back room who took care of sparkles were kind considerate and very passionate they helped make the whole process easier on me and my dog I am forever, grateful and thankful. I am just sorry that I didn’t know about them from the beginning and I could’ve used them as my veterinarian. thank you and god bless all of the banfield staff

The Best thing you can do for you and your pet. They operate like you would expect a human hospital to offer, only better. With a health care plan they keep track of all your pets needs and lets you know when they need their vaccinations or reminders of checkups. Out of pocket expenses are nothing compared with other veterinarian places

I brought my dog Luca for his Comprehensive Exam. We were greeted by Megan who was so friendly and nice to Luca. Amanda of the office also took Luca right away which was helpful because I had a busy day. Overall it was a good visit.

I recently encountered Toni Castro, and I was extremely disappointed with the interaction. Her combative and unprofessional attitude was not only off-putting but also deeply concerning, especially considering she represents a veterinary practice. Her demeanor came across as nasty and aggressive, making me question her genuine care for the welfare of animals. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not feel comfortable bringing my pets to this vet. It's crucial for a veterinary practice to have a compassionate and caring staff, and Toni Castro's behavior falls far short of that standard.

Today we dropped my Mom’s 2 dogs off for their 11:30 am appt in Lake Grove. They said it will be about 3 hours. I told them I have a 4 pm appointment, if they could please put a rush on it. When they called at 2 pm I was disappointed it was an update on only 1 dog. I let that person know I need to leave soon for an urgent 4 pm appt and if she could please hurry with the second dog. She said okay. At 3:15 I had to call and tell them to bring both dogs out front I have to leave for a 4 pm appt that I told 2 staff members about. We didn’t leave with the dogs until 3:30 (4 hours total-worse than the 3 hours originally told to us) making me late for my ultrasound appointment. I am VERY UPSET that this office (Lake Grove) took their time knowing I had expressed urgency of them to please hurry along from the minute we checked the dogs in. This office has a lack of concern and empathy for the pet owners. I would NOT recommend Lake Grove. Disgusted! We will not be using this location ever again.
