Preventive care

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Dr. La Croix is truly the best! My dog was seeing a different ophthalmologist & was diagnosed with an eye tumor & needed surgery. They were able to get me an appointment quickly. I switched to using Dr. La Croix & I can confidently say that it was the best decision I made for my dog. My dog has now had two surgeries here (eye tumor removal/ third eyelid extraction & eye enucleation) & both experiences were phenomenal. Dr. La Croix is thorough, genuine, intelligent, well-researched, and the very best ophthalmologist. It is easy to see how much she loves her job and all of her patients. My dog had some bumps in the road after his first surgery such as not eating, drinking, etc and Dr. La Croix checked in (call, text, email) at ALL hours for days after his surgery to make sure he was okay and gave advice on things to help. After my dogs second surgery, she was away at a conference & still checked in to make sure my dog is okay. She is truly one of a kind and goes above and beyond. I honestly wish she could see my dog for everything. Not only is Dr. La Croix the best, but her staff is truly amazing and kind. Danielle, Gerard, Kathleen, Ruby, & the entire team are all the best. They're all so good with my nervous boy. They're all compassionate and just truly good at what they do. It is easy to see how much they care about the babies they take care of each day. They're well trained in anesthesia & medications, which made me less nervous about my dogs surgery. My dog is my entire life and I don't trust many people with him and I feel very comfortable knowing Dr. La Croix & her amazing team are taking care of my boy. I could go on for days about how much I love Dr. La Croix & her entire team.

Dr La croix/Amy Knollinger and the entire team are simply the friendlest people i have met at any vet. Our 9 month Pug was treated with the best care for our concerns with a corneal ulcer. I highly highly recommend this location for any concern you have with your pets eyes. Gerard the vet assistant was also very very knowledgeable before Dr Knollinger walked in to walk me through all the instructions and even sat down with me to describe the the anatomy of the eye. This is in my opinion the go to place on long island if you really need help with your pet. :) Ruby at the front desk was also very caring.

Dr. LaCroix is the best veterinary specialist I have ever come across, the most genuine honest professional person ever! She has always taken time out no matter what time to help me or even my friends animals who she’s never seen! She’s such an amazing human and Dr. I truly respect her and all her work she does. She really cares deeply for animals I cannot thank her enough for her help with my cat and also advice and referrals for my friends dog. Also not to mention how awesome and nice her staff is!

I had the pleasure to meet Dr Lacroix over a decade ago when my Golden Retriever had double corneal ulcerations. she was brilliant and did a fabulous job. Excellent bed side manner. I’m so happy she now has her own practice. I was also happy to hear that a friend was referred to her and that is how I found out about her practice. I wish you all the best ! You are really an artist in your profession. Best of luck.

I have a 13 year old havanese mix that has been diagnosed with diabetes for the last 8 years. I currently work in the field as an LVT and know how difficult and demanding the field has become since the pandemic. That being said, the staff was absolutely wonderful, so kind, sweet and really took their time with my boy. They made him feel very at ease, we so gentle with him that he sat on the table, allowing the single tech to perform multiple eye tests by herself! Dr. La Croix took her time in explaining her exam findings and made recommendations. Although I do already have some medical knowledge, her explanations were clear and easy to understand. I highly recommend to anyone needing a veterinary ophthalmologist and will be scheduling an appointment with my other pup soon!
