How to Save Money at IAC Urgent Vets - Emergency and Urgent Care Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I was a nervous pet mom looking for urgent care for my baby girl Wiggles who had just given birth three days prior. The receptionist took my concerns and was able to schedule me the same day which brought me calmness. From the moment you enter IAC Urgent Vet, the staff at this office make you feel welcomed. The nurses and Dr. Arias listened to my concerns and explained everything step by step. They called that same night and the next day to follow up on Wiggles and the pups. They go the extra mile to make you and your pet feel comfortable amd cared for. For those on a budget, they go over everything being done and the prices for each before doing it. The prices are affordable. When it comes to medications, Dr. Arias provided options which included simple over the counter medication. Definitely pocket friendly all around. They truly are amazing!! I do plan to return and making this my dogs new Primary Care Vet. Thank you for your services!

My husband and I are very pleased and happy with the services we received from the Vet Dr Arias and his staff. After our little Rocky (9 year old Boston Terrier) having an emergency surgery which was caught in time by the vets. We are feeling blessed and grateful to them. We went in for a swollen leg which in X-ray then showed bladder stones which then our pooch needed surgery for. If the X-ray tech and doctor would have not noticed this could have turned very badly quickly. Thank you for your help. The whole staff truly love what they do and care for dogs and cats like of they were their own.

We had emergency at 9:30pm with our kitty. Our veterinary office was closed and close by emergency didn't open yet. With the pet in distress late evening, you don't know what to hope for. This office answered, and the receptionist was kind to let us come in even though they had another emergency, and it would be past 10 pm that they would see us while they close at 12am. We were booked and our kitty was taken inside for vital signs check almost right away. A technician collected information, took medications I had on hand, listened to medical history and had me e-mail to them all tests and scans I had from our regular veterinary office, while the receptionist relayed incoming information and documents from me to the medical room with a light speed. Dr. Johnson examined our kitty, took the time to review the record, listened to us, did a blood test on spot and once he had the picture together, he explained what most likely was the problem and the approaches we could take along with ready referral resources, suggestions and medications, if needed. The office is clean and organized, the Doctor and his team worked well together, they stayed well past the closing time with us and didn't rush us while we weighed our options. The care, thorough review and consideration, attention and kindness given to our kitty is something I look for in any pet clinic/hospital and this hospital I will recommend to anyone needing an urgent or emergency care and will keep them in my contacts as one of the main pet hospitals. If I were to describe our experience of the visit of this clinic in few words, these would be: caring, efficient, professional. Thank you to Dr. Johnson, technicians and receptionist for all your care and help. I wish you and your patients all the best!
