How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Specialized Care For Avian & Exotic Pets

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the friendly, knowledgeable and kind staff here. I had to bring my bearded dragon Gus here for an emergency this week and the turn around he made was amazing. I’m so grateful to doctor wade & team for taking care of Gus. Not only was the medical attention he received phenomenal but also the front desk receptionists. Thank you for taking the time to review his medications, diet and enclosure with me as well. I can’t wait to bring him back for his checkup- He loves his new friends at the vets! Thank you again!!!

There is no better place in Western New York to take your rabbit to. The entire staff is very friendly and very caring. Everyone knew our rabbit by name, and he received top level care from them. Dr. Strobel took extra time to ensure we understood everything and ensured that our rabbit and us were comfortable. Highly recommended.

I use this clinic for both my fennec Fox and my African grey parrot. They are kind and truly knowledgeable about small exotics and avian pets. Prices are entirely reasonable for such specialized service as well.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Wade, her staff, and this clinic. My pet parakeet had a medical emergency, and Dr. Wade was willing to see her even though I did not have an appointment. My parakeet needed surgery, which Dr. Wade performed that same morning. Her staff was very kind to me when I called them and when I came in to the clinic. Dr. Wade is extremely knowledgeable and explained everything going on with my parakeet to me in a way that I could understand. I deeply appreciate that she called me after the surgery to let me know that everything went very well. I will forever be so grateful that Dr. Wade was willing to help me and my pet. If I could give 1,000 stars, I would.

We take our bearded dragon here. Everyone is super friendly, and anyone who's interacted with my son (my beardie) has shown genuine interest in him. The last time we went, he didn't want to leave! We left him there while we went to work, and when we went to pick him up at the end of the day, the nurse told us she was taking calls with him on her shoulder. He loves people and is super friendly, so realizing that he enjoys socialization, they socialized with him. Good doctors who actually care about their patients.
