How to Save Money at Spay & Neuter Center of Southern Nevada
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

THANK YOU SPAY and NEUTER CLINIC 3/23/ 2016, I went to S&N to take a 2B (big black dog, the hardest to find homes for. ), that i had caught,, took him through a brand new rescue, to S&N to get vaccines, chipped and neutered, He was so good, they thought he might be 3-4 yrs old, he was so scared i had to walk him into the back for them, When I went to pick him up. he was ready to go, with his big ol cone, we were walking to the car. the door opened of clinic and out came Dr. G. "I wanted to let you know I think he is closer to 2yrs old, this dog is a good boy, He is a Awesome dog." as she was petting his sleepy face. Now I'm looking in her face and her eyes trying to read what she was saying and she said it again.... this is a GREAT DOG. What I saw in those eyes was sincerity, love, compassion and a Vet who is in this business fur her love of helping animals not just getting them vetted but genuinely tried to help this poor tossed dog, get it out that he is AWESOME! All the way home i was giving him the side eye, everything happens fur a reason(my Moms reasoning fur everything) my heart, soul and brain were side eyeing him. But before we reached home, he had become, BUBBA WILSON MY VERY OWN 2B, BECAME A 5B... Big Beautiful Black Boy named Bubba. it will be 10 years, I 've loved this AWESOME DOG. on 3/13/2026, not sure if he is going to make it to our 10yr anniversary.... He is slowing down, his ol man years have caught up with him. not sure how much longer he has.... but i will be with him til he or I, have our last breath. Thank you Dr G. for taking that lil extra attention that made what i say was fate barking at my door, it was your words sealed the deal, so it became a reality, Bubba had found his furever home... with Me! without those kind words.... i might of missed out on my best friend. furever grateful fur that visit. im bawling like a baby. ty from the bottom of my heart. ty SLW-T aka ❤️Bubba's Momma❤️

The staff here seem to be very caring and enthusiastic towards pets. Their prices are very low, but they have first-class service standards. The only minor flaw is that as a professional, they cut blood from my puppy's nails while helping it get vaccinated。 Highly recommended.

Our visit to the vet at this place. We walked 30 min after 3pm they couldn’t make up their mind if they should take us or not even though we were willing to pay the $15 fee just for that and we didn’t mind at all. The girl who helped us for the check in was really nice I won’t deny. Here comes the girl to take our dog for the vaccination already with attitude, I brushed it off. She came back with her attitude and said my dog is very aggressive and that she supposedly bit the doctor we can’t speak of that she might of she is stubborn continue to tell us that they will put on her chart from now on that she has to were a mussel that’s ok but then she continued that they couldn’t finish the exam even though we paid for it, so you can do future exams with mussel, but you can’t finished this one????? We already paid for it, some service. You’re there to serve all dogs our dog is 16 lb. You can’t handle her? Too bad that from one girl with attitude you will loose a customer and referrals. We tried to see it differently maybe she had a bad day, but that doesn’t define the way she talked to us . We won’t go back to this place. We do apologize for our dog behavior, but at the end of the day we can’t predict how she will react and the circumstances which will cause her to react that way. Keep in mind she’s 4 years old and never bit anyone.
