06/05/2026 We took our Shihpoo in for a second opinion regarding his eye issues, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The customer service was phenomenal, and the veterinarian and technician took the time to thoroughly examine our puppy without making us feel rushed. Everything was explained in great detail, and all of our questions were answered. We truly appreciated the professionalism, compassion, and expertise shown by the entire staff. I highly recommend this establishment for any of your pet’s eye care needs.

We are so thankful for Dr. Peterson and the entire team at Eye Care for Animals. We were referred in an emergency situation, as Ozzy our English Bulldog's, eye globe was about to rupture. The team was able to get us in almost immediately. Dr. Peterson and her team explained the medical situation to us and the options that were available to help her. Since the required surgery was considered emergency the team was even willing to rearrange the schedule and stay late to ensure that Ozzy received the care needed to save her eye and her vision. Dr. Peterson went above and beyond and was able to perform an even better procedure then she thought she would be able to, which means that Ozzy has less vision impairment then anticipated. Our follow-up experience and care has also been wonderful. The team has been available to answer any questions and provided excellent explanations of the medicines and how to properly administer them. Dr. Peterson was also able to identify and fix the issue that was causing the eye ulcers that Ozzy was experiencing, helping to ensure we do not have further trauma to her eyes. In addition to that, she has also helped us manage Ozzy's seasonal allergies, which have always affected her eyes. As a family we are extremely grateful for the team at Eye Care for Animals- Albuquerque.

Dr. Auten and her staff are excellent. The doctor was expert in diagnosing my dog's eye issue and what caused it. The course of treatment she prescribed totally resolved a very serious issue over ~6 months. I am very happy that she was able to cure my dog. They are very professional. I cannot recommend them more highly.

My experience with this office was that all the people concerned were friendly, and nice to deal with. I was a half and hour late for my appointment because of horrible traffic problems on my commute to them from Santa Fe (and hour drive on a good day)...and they kindly put me at the end of the appt. schedule. I had to wait around but it was a lot better than having to reshedule and come back and make the trip again. Once we got into the see the doc she was very informative and pleasant to deal with...calm, loving to my little Gucci, and helpful with a positive diagnosis for "dry eye". She gave me meds and instructions to follow. BUT...she prescribed this particular ointment for him to be administered 4 times a day...I think that is unrealistic and not really feasible. It is bad enough that my rescue dog, who has a bit of a suspicious nature because he had to survive as a stray in the beginning of his little life, would not tolerate. SO we are doing the best we can and if I get the oinment in once a day I concider it enough. We will see what the outcome of all this is when we return for his check up appt. in 6 weeks. All in all I am just thankful that there is a clinic that specializes in eye care...It is a really wonderful service they provide.

Dr. Auten and her assistant were wonderful! Each were very gentle and caring with our dog Molly and took the time to make Molly comfortable. Dr. Auten demonstrated a very high level of competence and communicated her findings and recommendations to us in a way we could easily understand. We are very thankful for the care that was given.
