How to Save Money at Happy Tails Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I cannot say enough about Happy Tails! Everyone who works there from the front Desk, Vet techs and the Phenomenal doctors are truly wonderful. My dogs absolutely love going to see their favorite person Dr. Drotos. She is one of the best veterinarian doctors we have ever come across. She absolutely loves animals Where else can you go where your dogs literally drag you into the examination room so they can see their favorite person who then literally lays on the ground and plays with them. We have searched for a vet group who we could feel comfortable with. They are honest, caring and go above and beyond for your pet. We have a special-needs dog who requires quite a bit of medical attention and from the very beginning Dr. Drotos and Dr. Rovere have made us feel so much more at ease and confident with handling it. If you are looking for a new vet I highly recommend them. You won’t be disappointed and neither will your pets.

What a great visit. Thought poor Sam had an ear infection (on a Sunday!) so we brought him here. Very clean office and wonderful, friendly staff. Doc checked him out and gave him a shot but the best part is, they cut his nails! Sam is super anxious and does not allow anyone to touch his Paws but they were successful! It took a compassionate team but they did it! Thanks guys!

Friendly, welcoming, informative, and knowledgeable. The vets are extremely patient with their furry clients and always have time to explain to the humans what is being done as well as the costs.. I live an hour away from Happy Tails but continue to take my pets there because of they are the best vet practice!

I can’t leave enough stars about this business! Dr. Rovere is a special human being. From day one of us switching to this vet we have been so happy. Dr. Rovere really takes her time with the animals and takes the time to explain everything. She genuinely cares and her knowledge shines through. Her staff is always so friendly and helpful. They do not overcharge or recommend unnecessary expenses. Thank you so much for your care! Clyde says thank you! 🐾

Wanted to love my experience here but that was not the case..I was skeptical after the first visit for shots quick and $300 but decided to use them to remove a mass that Chloe had in between her paw. Surgery went fine except Dr Rovere told me my dog turned blue during surgery and didn’t know why but she “saved her life” Chloe was sent home without a cone which I paid for when I reviewed my estimate and then next morning she woke up crying and she bite her bandage off. I panicked and drove to the vet at 8am for them to help me give both pain and antibiotic they send me home to get my medicine. Only for the vet to come in and offer liquid injection antibiotics I said how much it was $90 which I agreed because I had a hard time getting it down my 10lb dogs throat. Upon check out I get charged another $55 for another bandage and $11 for medical waste which they didn’t even dispose of anything. I felt taken advantage of after giving them $1000 in cash the day before and $276 for pre op blood work.. like come on I’m a hairstylist if my client needed a little more off her bangs a week later I wouldn’t charge them!! I called the vet shady and she got upset..she has now banned me which I really wasn’t going to go back anyway but the dog has stitches that need to be removed and she refuses to take them out. Felt they really don’t care about the clients just the money. Like I said Shady!!! Try and get a price an exact price for a procedure guarantee vet or staff can’t answer that lol!!! And then hundreds of dollars later..place sucks!! Sent home no cone but my fault she ate off her bandage..
