How to Save on Veterinary Costs at VCA Russell Animal Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I’ve used RAH for over 15 years, well before they were VCA. Many of the vets and staff are still there, and I am always amazed at how kind and compassionate they are to all the animals I bring them. Whether my own personal animals, or the ones in my hospice care, I never doubt their expertise and knowledge. Thank you RAH for all your hard work and dedication to animal care

I have been taking my dogs (Adult & Puppies) to Russell for several years. The staff is always friendly, kind and loving. Docs are amazing and take the time to explain things and answer questions. Thank you for taking care of my fur babies!

I’m relatively new to this practice, having been with them for a couple of years, and I couldn't be happier. For the first time, I truly feel that this is the perfect place for my pets. The team consistently goes above and beyond, with doctors who are not only incredibly knowledgeable but also understanding and patient. The receptionists are always friendly and efficient, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Such exceptional care and service are rare, and I’m committed to staying with them for the long term.

Let me start this by saying the front desk receptionists are some of the nicest people I’ve experienced at a vets office. They are so responsive and pleasant. As for the medical procedure after care, lack of communication, and complication, I was left feeling like I was on my own — a couple examples in what has led to this feeling: (1) my kitten has been dunking her paws into water post surgery, which I thought was odd/cute until I saw she had a wound in between her toes with blood & puss (looks like they cut her nails past the quick or an altercation I was unaware of occurred). (2) day of surgery the actual vet was too busy to talk to me, called hours after I was told I’d be notified — calling just 45 minutes prior to the vet office closing and when I asked for pain meds to take home, they said they couldn’t dispense any because the vet left. In addition, I expressed concerns of dental issues and asked the vet tech to follow up with the vet (TWICE) now with no response or communication. The vet who left the VM at the end of day seemed exhausted after she explained there were tons of surgeries.. I get it, I do, but I love my pet and want to be in communication when things are wrong. Update after following up here — she does have an infection in her foot. Unimpressed with the altercation and situation handled today in the office for numerous reasons. Will not return.

Friendly staff and vets, clean office, fast test results. I am very happy with this place. Dr Fronts is professional, she saved my dog's life. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
