How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Burwell Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Called the emergency line because my dog was having serious issues after delivering her pups, he was nice enough to let me know that they were closed on Sundays and would be open on Monday morning at 8. That’s not what an emergency number is for, my dog needed help TODAY. From now on I will try to schedule my dogs emergencies around regular office hours 🤬

Kind, efficient, and wholly professional care. These are folks who take what they do very seriously and it shows - from the front desk to medical care to animal boarding, BVH is outstanding in all regards. I can't recommend them highly enough. Heck, even my cats like them and cats don't really like anyone.

We love this clinic! Holly is great with my dogs along with Charli. Jill at front desk is great too. All staff is very helpful knowledgeable and fun! Holly takes the times to explain things to me and very patient with me. Highly recommend!

Dr. Bret Andrews is a "large animal" veterinary. Was the only Dr. available when we trusted our dog to his care. Dog had severe wounds from an altercation with what was probably a bobcat. Following minor cleanup of the wounds, he recommended sending her home with aspirin, for pain relief. Really??! We had a previous prescription of a moderate pain med which helped a little. But, our doggie suffered greatly before she died. Maybe large animals don't suffer pain (?) and only require aspirin? I cannot give Dr. Andrews a pass on small animals.
