How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Vanguard Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I love the office and all the ladies that work here are very knowledgeable and give great care to each appointment and pet. My boy went in for X-rays and was in and out quickly and unbothered by the process. He came home immediately following for a nice nap.

I was greeted at my car on time by Nicole, and she carried Cooper in for his first treatment. When she brought him back a short time later, he was very calm. She made recommendations, answered my questions, and processed the payment right then and there. Such professional, efficient, thoughtful, compassionate care is rare and very impressive. Thank you!

Dr V and her staff are the best! They provide excellent care not only for our beloved fur babies but for us as well. Always taking time to discuss options! We would not take our loved babies any where else!

Dr. V is amazing. I am very picky about the veterinarians that my dog sees, and I happily drive over an hour each way to have Dr. V see my dog. My dog's hip and elbow xrays are so good I've thought about having them printed and framed. Dr. V is also great at doing dentals and surgery in addition to the full rehab center she offers. She's the best for your working dog or your pet.

I took my 13 year old retired working dog to Dr. V to see if she had any additional treatment options. Unfortunately my sweet boy was close to the rainbow bridge. Dr. V gave my boy a comprehensive exam and completely reviewed all his previous medical records. She has a tremendous amount of experience treating working dogs, and I found great comfort in her diagnosis. She was unrushed and compassionate.
